There's no place like home for Sachem East, who bounced back after a  loss on the road  on Monday. They walked away with  a   6-1  victory over the Walt Whitman Wildcats  on Thursday. Sachem East hasn't had any issues with Walt Whitman recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive  win against them.
 Angelina Cornand made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound,   striking out seven batters over  seven innings while giving up just one earned run off   nine  hits (and only one walk). Cornand was also solid in the batter's box,  going 1-for-2 with one  run and one  RBI.

 In other batting news,  Cameron Buckstein was  excellent,  getting on base  in two of her four plate appearances with three  stolen bases and two  runs. That's the most  stolen bases  she has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was  Sam Madigan, who  went 1-for-2 with one  stolen base, one  run,  and one  double.
 Sachem East  hit smart and  finished the game with only one  strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters  in 13 consecutive  matchups  dating back to last season.
Sachem East's victory bumped their record up to 7-4. As for Walt Whitman, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-4.
 Sachem East wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next  game,  an  8-2  loss against Sachem North on the 28th. As for Walt Whitman, they have also already played their next contest,  a  6-2  defeat against Connetquot on the 25th.
