The Tremont Eagles's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their eighth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 55-27 loss at the hands of Mantachie. Tremont was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Mantachie apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2020.
Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Caleb Neal, who scored six points along with three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Nate Ruffin, who scored seven points along with six rebounds.
Tremont has been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-20 record this season. As for Mantachie, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-13.
Tremont and Wheeler will face off at 7:00 p.m. on February 5th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Tremont is coming into the contest with five straight losses on the road, meaning Wheeler will have to defend against a squad hungry for a victory. Mantachie does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
