Snow Canyon and Springville are an even 3-3 against one another since March of 2021, but likely not for long. The Warriors are taking a road trip to take on the Red Devils at 9:00 a.m. on Friday. Snow Canyon is coming into the matchup on a six-game losing streak.
Snow Canyon couldn't beat Dixie on Thursday even though they stacked four runs on them in the third inning. The Warriors took a 10-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Flyers.
Falynn Randall made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one stolen base and one run. Jaci Gough was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.
Springville came out on top against Crimson Cliffs on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run fourth inning. The Red Devils' pitcher stepped up to hand the Mustangs a 7-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Red Devils, who have now won three games by seven runs or more so far this season.
Not much got past Allyx Haveron, who gave up just three hits and racked up eight Ks to keep Crimson Cliffs off the board. Haveron has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Addi Crandall, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one run. Sami DeLlamas also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.
The win made it two in a row for Springville and bumps their season record up to 4-1. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 1 runs in those games. As for Snow Canyon, their loss dropped their record down to 2-12.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Friday. Snow Canyon hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.6 home runs per game. However, it's not like Springville struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 1.2 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Everything went Snow Canyon's way against Springville in their previous matchup back in March of 2025, as Snow Canyon made off with a 13-4 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Warriors since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
