The Orange Panthers scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They breezed by Southern Alamance at home to the tune of 93-40. Perhaps unsurprisinly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.
Orange found their leader in underclassman Coleman Cloer, who scored 39 points along with seven rebounds and two blocks. That makes it four consecutive games in which Cloer has scored at least a third of Orange's points. Mason Robinson was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 14 points and 14 rebounds.
When it comes to explaining why Southern Alamance lost, one person who can't be blamed is Chris Epps. Despite the final result, he scored 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Moore, who scored seven points along with seven rebounds.
Orange pushed their record up to 12-11 with that win, which was their sixth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 78.5 points per game. As for Southern Alamance, their loss dropped their record down to 13-9.
Coincidentally, Orange and Southern Alamance will both be playing Eastern Alamance the next time they take the court. Southern Alamance will host Eastern Alamance at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Orange will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
