The Tahlequah Tigers will head out on the road to face off against the Putnam City Pirates at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Oklahoma (Tahlequah is ranked 98th, while Putnam City is ranked 110th).
Last Friday, Tahlequah had to suffer through a rough 51-20 loss at the hands of Bartlesville. Tahlequah has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the loss, Tahlequah saw an underclassman step up: Kingston Hall rushed for 74 yards and a touchdown. Hall really tore up the turf during one magnificent 74-yard run.
Meanwhile, Putnam City can now show off four landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Thursday. They blew past Northwest Classen, posting a 71-13 victory at home. The victory was just what Putnam City needed coming off of a 65-20 defeat in their prior game.
Judson Keefer looked great while leading his team to the win, throwing for 266 yards and three touchdowns while completing 73.7% of his passes, and also punching in a touchdown on the ground. Davien Taylor was in the mix too, providing Putnam City with two touchdowns.
Putnam City's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB 13 times. The heavy lifting was done by Cayden Hatlelid and Johnn Sheffey who racked up eight sacks between them.
Bartlesville's win bumped their season record to 4-6 while Tahlequah's defeat dropped theirs to 3-7.
