Football Recap: Folsom Starts Season with Victory on the Road

Folsom had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They really took it to the Grant Pacers for the full four quarters, racking up a 51-13 victory. The win continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Pacers: they've now won four in a row.

Ryder Lyons had a dynamite game, throwing for 408 yards and four TDs while completing 84.2% of his passes, and also punching in one score on the ground. Rob Larson was another key player, picking up 170 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Folsom proved: they limited Grant to a paltry 3.4 yards per carry. The team can thank Nick Wegner for the heroic effort on defense: he. Folsom hasn't allowed more than 1.7 yards per carry in four consecutive games dating back to last season.

Special teams also played a big role in the game for Folsom, adding 11 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Jameson Powell, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.
