Charlotte S hasn't had much luck against Lake Norman Charter recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Stampede will take on the Knights at 4:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
As a matter of fact, Charlotte S put up the most runs they have all season on Friday. Everything went their way against Pro Stock Royals Academy as they made off with an 11-5 victory. The game was the first time the Stampede have beaten the Royals on their field since March 21, 2024.

Bowen Macy was incredible, scoring two runs while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances. He is becoming a predictor of Charlotte S' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 5-12 when he doesn't). Elijah Darwin was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.
Charlotte S kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since the start of last season.
Meanwhile, Lake Norman Charter had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They were the clear victors by a 16-3 margin over Concord on Tuesday. With that win, the Knights brought their scoring average up to 6.6 runs per game.
Pearce Conklin made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 3-for-3. Those two runs gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Janson Kane and Corey Bean did most of the damage at the plate: Kane scored a run while going 3-for-4, while Bean got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two doubles and two RBI. Kane also hit a double, marking his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Palmer Hayes, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.
Charlotte S' record is now 9-12. As for Lake Norman Charter, their record now sits at 9-5.
Charlotte S took their victory against Lake Norman Charter when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 7-1 score. Do the Stampede have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Knights turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
