The Harvard-Westlake Wolverines are on the road again on Friday and play against the St. Genevieve Valiants at 7:00 p.m. on October 27th. St. Genevieve took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Harvard-Westlake, who comes in off a win.
Last Friday, Harvard-Westlake beat Mary Star of the Sea 14-7.
Samuel Christopher had a dynamite game for Harvard-Westlake, rushing for 178 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 9.4 yards per carry.
Meanwhile, St. Genevieve's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They were dealt a 35-7 loss at the hands of St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy. While losing is never fun, St. Genevieve can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 691st, while St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy is ranked 283rd).
Harvard-Westlake's win bumped their record up to 4-5. As for St. Genevieve, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 1-7.
Harvard-Westlake won a matchup that couldn't have been any closer when the teams last played back in October of 2022, slipping by St. Genevieve 21-20. The rematch might be a little tougher for Harvard-Westlake since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
