Glenn hasn't had much luck against Cerritos recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The two teams, after both having extra time off, will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field at 3:15 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Thursday, Glenn came up short against Oxford Academy and fell 21-16.
Meanwhile, Cerritos had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10 runs) and they went ahead and made it four last Thursday. They put the hurt on the Titans with a sharp 16-2 win. Considering the Dons have won five games by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Jade Hernandez made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Ava Ceron was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with three runs, one double, and one RBI. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Daphne Linsangan, who went 1-for-2 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run.
Cerritos was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .462. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Glenn's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Cerritos, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
Glenn might still be hurting after the 8-2 defeat they got from Cerritos in their previous matchup back in April of 2025. Will the Eagles have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more softball content.
