Melrose have been homebodies their last two matches, but they are heading out on Friday. They will square off against Wooddale at 7:00 PM. Melrose will be strutting in after a victory while Wooddale will be stumbling in from a defeat.
Melrose put the finishing touches on their 3rd blowout victory of the season last Friday. They were the clear victor by a 44-14 margin over Hamilton. Melrose were expected to win, but the margin was definitely larger than the state rankings had forecast.
Meanwhile, Wooddale came into their this week averaging 30.25 points per game, but Wooddale fell well short of that average, and it cost them. They found themselves the reluctant recipients of an unpleasant 8-42 punch to the gut against Christian Brothers. Wooddale's low-scoring loss was the unsatisfying follow-up to their high-scoring outing the match before.
The last time the two teams met, Melrose were within striking distance but couldn't close the gap the last time the two teams met, as they fell 14-18 to Wooddale. Can Melrose avenge their loss, or is history doomed to repeat itself ? We'll soon find out.
