Given Organ Mountain's advantage in MaxPreps' New Mexico basketball rankings (they are ranked fifth, while Los Lunas is ranked 28th), the result on Saturday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Organ Mountain had a senior duo take command as Brandon Kehres scored 14 points and YehNhi Wilson scored ten points along with six rebounds. The match was Wilson's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Lenny Washington was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Organ Mountain's victory bumped their record up to 9-1. As for Los Lunas, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-4.
Organ Mountain will head out on the road to face off against Silver at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Silver is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak. Los Lunas and Farmington will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 2nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Farmington will be coming into the game with an undefeated record on the line.
