The Warren County Wildcats lost against the Meridian Mustangs back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. Warren County was outmatched by the Mustangs at home and fell 82-34. Warren County was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 51-17.
Despite the loss, Warren County saw an underclassman step up: Bryce Bergmann scored eight points.
This is the second loss in a row for Warren County and nudges their season record down to 5-14. As for Meridian, their victory was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 15-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Warren County will stay at home for another game and welcome the Cougars at 7:30 p.m. on February 2nd. Meridian will take on the Pride at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Heritage will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Virginia Rankings (they are ranked 316th, while the Mustangs are ranked 92nd).
