It was a good run, but Florence unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Simpson Academy Cougars by a score of 6-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Eagles have suffered since April 27, 2024.

Brady Griffin made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI. That home run marked the first that he launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryan Davis, who scored a run while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Florence's loss dropped their record down to 7-2. As for Simpson Academy, they pushed their record up to 7-6 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.

While Florence had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
