The West Tallahatchie Choctaws posted their closest victory since December 21, 2023 on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Leland 28-25. The win made it back-to-back wins for West Tallahatchie.
West Tallahatchie can attribute much of their success to Mi'Kenzi Christian, who scored 20 points. That makes it seven consecutive games in which Christian has scored at least a third of West Tallahatchie's points.
West Tallahatchie is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-9 record this season. As for Leland, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-17.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Simmons the next time they take the court. Leland will host Simmons at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, while West Tallahatchie will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
