After flying high against the DSST: Cedar Falcons two weeks ago, the Windsor Charter Academy Firebirds came back down to earth. Windsor Charter Academy took a 63-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of SkyView Academy on Wednesday. Windsor Charter Academy was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as SkyView Academy apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.
When it comes to explaining why Windsor Charter Academy lost, one person who can't be blamed is Kellen Ball. Despite the final result, he scored 18 points along with five steals. Ball has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. Andrew Schams was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with five rebounds.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead SkyView Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kyle Cosart, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 12 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaac Dove, who scored 14 points along with five assists and two blocks.
Windsor Charter Academy's loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-3. As for SkyView Academy, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-3.
Windsor Charter Academy will head out on the road to square off against Bishop Machebeuf at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Bishop Machebeuf has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 1,052 points over their last 14 matchups. As for SkyView Academy, they have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Denver Academy at 7:30 p.m. on February 13th. Denver Academy is coming into the matchup with three straight victories on the road, so SkyView Academy is out to stop a team with plenty of momentum.
