Golden Rule Academy scored a stunning upset when it knocked off Miami Christian, 59-38. At the time, the Victors were ranked 25th in the state, while Golden Rule Academy was 26th.
Chris Zamis' team was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from ninth to fifth in Florida Christian I (6 Man). Golden Rule Academy beat Miami Christian 59-38 earlier in the week.
Canterbury's dynamic duo of Alex Rabinowitz and Steven Hueniken proved tough for Westwood Christian to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Rabinowitz threw for 186 yards and four touchdowns and Hueniken had 70 yards receiving. Luke Felts helped Canterbury's passing attack out by catching four balls for 62 yards.
Rabinowitz made the biggest impact on defense this week as the Cougars topped the Warriors. The defensive back pulled down one interception.
Andre Bergouignan was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 104 yards on 17 carries as the Victors defeated Westwood Christian. Teammate Matt Espinel added to the ground attack by rushing for 58 yards.
The marquee game in the league this week will be the clash between Cape Coral Christian and Donahue Academy. The Crusaders enters the contest ranked 11th in the state, while Donahue Academy ranks ninth.
Michael Marciaino's team extended the longest winning streak in Florida Christian I (6 Man) this week by beating the Warriors, 58-24. The win marks eighth in a row for the the Cougars.
