The Einstein Titans will head out on the road to face off against the Magruder Colonels at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the pair posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Last Friday, Einstein came up short against Blair and fell 64-55. Einstein has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Meanwhile, Magruder entered their tilt with Damascus with nine consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with ten. Magruder blew past Damascus, posting a 66-39 win at home. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Magruder has posted against Damascus since January 3, 2020.
Magruder's win on Friday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Aiden Dabbondanza, who scored 19 points along with six assists and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Sekou Bangoura, who scored 20 points along with eight rebounds.
Einstein has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season. As for Magruder, they pushed their record up to 10-1 with that victory, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.
Einstein was able to grind out a solid victory over Magruder when the teams last played back in February of 2023, winning 53-44. Will Einstein repeat their success, or does Magruder have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
