The Bovina Mustangs lost against the Farwell Steers on January 9th, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Bovina was beaten by Farwell 88-9. Bovina was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 53-3.
It was another big night for Makylee Baldwin, who scored 24 points along with eight steals for Farwell. Baldwin has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Landri Richey, who scored ten points along with nine assists and six steals.
Bovina has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season. As for Farwell, the win was the 12th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 26-3.
Bovina will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Boys Ranch at 6:00 p.m. Boys Ranch is no doubt hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for Farwell, they will head out on the road to challenge Highland Park at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Highland Park has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 29.
