For Glynn Academy, this counts as revenge for the 48-40 defeat South Effingham walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2023.
Glynn Academy was led to victory by Kyra Page and Martin Davis. Page scored 13 points along with five steals, while Davis dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds. Davis is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last eight games she's played. Mar'kuecia Burton was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with three steals.
Despite the loss, South Effingham saw an underclassman step up: Hayden Johanson scored 15 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Johanson has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Justine Nevels, who scored five points along with 11 rebounds and two steals.
Glynn Academy has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matches, which provided a massive bump to their 10-9 record this season. As for South Effingham, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Glynn Academy will take on Evans at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
