The Wickenburg Wranglers will head out on the road to face off against the San Tan Foothills Sabercats at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. San Tan Foothills took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Wickenburg, who comes in off a win.
Last Saturday, everything came up roses for Wickenburg on the road against Tonopah Valley as the team secured a 46-12 victory. The win made it back-to-back wins for Wickenburg.
Meanwhile, San Tan Foothills struggled with offensive rebounds on Friday (Payson had 1100% more) and sadly the final score reflected it. San Tan Foothills took a 55-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of Payson.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Cienna Witcher, who scored 13 points along with 7 rebounds and 4 steals. The match was her third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Abigail Horlacher, who scored 12 points along with 5 steals.
Wickenburg's victory lifted them to 2-0 while Tonopah Valley's loss dropped them down to 0-4.
Wickenburg came up short against San Tan Foothills in their previous meeting back in December of 2022, falling 46-36. Thankfully for Wickenburg, Mallory Mathews (who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 10 steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
