Softball Recap: Ripley Wins Going Away Against Walnut

Ripley had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the six-run drubbing they dealt Walnut on Friday. Ripley blew past Walnut 8-2. The Tigers not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since February 25th.

Ripley let Lola Grace Ward and Emma Edwards run wild. Ward went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, while Edwards went 2-for-3 with three RBI and two doubles. That's the most RBI Ward has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Allyson Christmas, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-3.

Ripley was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .450. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Ripley's record now sits at 5-12. As for Walnut, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-6.

Coming up, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Ripley Tigers face off against Pine Grove Panthers at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Pine Grove will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Ripley surely won't give up without a fight. As for Walnut, they will face off against Falkner at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. Walnut is facing Falkner at the right time seeing as Falkner is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
