Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, the South Windsor Bobcats couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 42-20 walloping at the hands of the Spartans on Tuesday. South Windsor's loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.
South Windsor's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Logan Sherwood, who rushed for 72 yards and a touchdown.
South Windsor's defeat dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Maloney, they have yet to lose a game at home this season, leaving them with a 10-1 record.
South Windsor does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Maloney will take on New Canaan at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday. New Canaan is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
