Rock Hill is a perfect 10-0 against Dawson-Bryant since April of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Redmen will be playing in front of their home fans against the Hornets at 5:30 p.m.
Wednesday just wasn't the day for Rock Hill's offense. They lost 10-0 to Portsmouth on Wednesday. The defeat continues a trend for the Redmen in their meetings with the Trojans: they've now lost seven in a row.
Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last matchup, Dawson-Bryant made sure to put some runs up on the board against Hannan on Thursday. The Hornets put the hurt on the Wildcats with a sharp 17-4 win. Considering the Hornets have won four games by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Leland McKnight and Blake Collins made a splash while hitting and pitching. Throwing, McKnight pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Collins tossed two innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. McKnight has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. At bat, McKnight got on base in both of his plate appearances with two runs and one RBI, while Collins went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base and one run.
In other batting news, Caden Turner was a standout: he went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Dawson-Bryant is 2-1 when Turner posts one or more home runs, but 2-5 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Karder Keaton, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double.
Dawson-Bryant was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .481. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Dawson-Bryant's victory bumped their record up to 4-6. As for Rock Hill, their loss dropped their record down to 3-5.
Rock Hill got the 'W' in their previous meeting back in May of 2025 against Dawson-Bryant by a conclusive 11-2 score. Do the Redmen have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Hornets turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
