Diego Ultreras had an outrageously good game as he en route to 23 points and five assists. That's the most points he has posted since back in December of 2023. Another player making a difference was Elias Ruiz, who to rack up 12 points.
Ultreras wasn't the only one working in the assist department: El Capitan was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Placer only nine assists.
Despite the loss, Placer saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Kannon Rector dropped a double-double with 14 points and ten rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeremiah Rethi, who had ten points and seven boards.
El Capitan's victory bumped their record up to 19-10. As for Placer, their defeat dropped their record down to 26-4.
Coming up, El Capitan will take on Burbank at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. El Capitan knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four games -- so hopefully Burbank likes a good challenge. Placer does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
