After a string of seven wins, the Lexington Minutemen's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 69-60 hit to the loss column at the hands of Heyworth. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Lexington came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 127th, while Heyworth is ranked 295th).
Lexington lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Ethan Storm, who scored 16 points along with seven assists and three steals. Storm has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last ten times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Blaine Friedmansky, who scored 12 points along with three steals.
Lexington's loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 15-4. As for Heyworth, their win bumped their record up to 7-9.
