The West Union Dragons lost against the Lynchburg-Clay Mustangs back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. West Union took a serious blow against Lynchburg-Clay, falling 70-18. West Union was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 50-13.
Lynchburg-Clay can attribute much of their success to Jade Massey, who scored 20 points along with 7 steals and 5 rebounds. Massey is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Addison West, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 10 rebounds.
West Union's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Lynchburg-Clay, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. West Union will face off against Western at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Lynchburg-Clay, they will head out on the road to face off against Unioto at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Unioto focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Saturday.
