The Chamberlain Storm are taking a road trip to square off against the Jefferson Dragons at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Chamberlain is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last three games.
While Chamberlain's win against Tampa Catholic wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Storm won by a run and slipped past the Crusaders 1-0. The one-run effort marked the Storm's lowest-scoring contest of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Daria Bush was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 12 over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run and one double. That home run was her first of the season.
Meanwhile, Jefferson hadn't done well against Robinson recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Dragons put the hurt on the Knights with a sharp 11-5 victory. The result was nothing new for the Dragons, who have now won seven games by six runs or more so far this season.
Like Chamberlain, Jefferson also got a great game from a two-way player: Madisen Fleming. On the mound, she tossed seven innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off six hits. Fleming was also solid in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Amaya Argilagos, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Amaris Dominguez was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.
Chamberlain's record now sits at 8-3. As for Jefferson, their record is now 7-5.
Thursday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Chamberlain hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .324. However, it's not like Jefferson struggles in that department as they've averaged .345. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Chamberlain came out on top in a nail-biter against Jefferson in their previous meeting back in February, sneaking past 8-7. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Storm since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
