The Overton Wolverines have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matches by 21 points or more this season. They claimed a resounding 57-28 win over Mitchell on the road. Winning may never get old, but Overton sure is getting used to it with their seventh in a row.
Overton's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kierra Baldwin led the charge by scoring 13 points along with six steals and five rebounds. The match was Baldwin's fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Alexandria Clemmons, who scored ten points along with six assists and four steals.
Overton pushed their record up to 7-1 with that victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Mitchell, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.
Overton will be home for the holidays to greet Craigmont at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Craigmont will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Tennessee Rankings (they are ranked 306th, while Overton is ranked 117th). As for Mitchell, they will head out on the road to face off against Kirby at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Kirby has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 16.
