Softball Recap: Fowler Beats Parlier for Their Seventh Straight Win

Fowler entered their tilt with Parlier on Tuesday with six consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with seven. They blew past the Panthers 19-3. The result was nothing new for the Redcats, who have now won nine contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Danika Serrano was a standout: she got on base in all five of her plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Bailey Monis, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base.

Fowler was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .300 or higher in seven consecutive matchups.

Fowler pushed their record up to 14-4-1 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.1 runs on average over those games. As for Parlier, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season.

Fowler will square off against Sunnyside at 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday. The Redcats are facing the Wildcats at the right time seeing as the Wildcats are stuck on a four-game losing streak. Parlier will be paying especially close attention to Fowler's contest: after Fowler faces off against Sunnyside, they'll take on Parlier again at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
