The Cienega Bobcats waltzed into their game Wednesday with five straight wins but they left with six. They took down Sierra Vista 82-67. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
It was another big night for Evan Golembieski, who scored 25 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Those 25 points set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Jackson Moore, who scored 15 points along with five steals.
Cienega has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season. As for Sierra Vista, they now have a losing record at 3-4.
Cienega won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Cambridge at 6:00 p.m. on December 28th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in their respective states (Cambridge is ranked 68th in Georgia, while Cienega is ranked 58th in Arizona). Sierra Vista will finish 2023 at home by hosting Pusch Ridge Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
