The Westview Warriors will head out on the road to square off against the Columbia City Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
On Thursday, Westview beat Churubusco 4-1. The Warriors haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.
Jack Massey spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on one hit and racked up nine Ks. Westview is 3-1 when Massey allows three or fewer hits, but 5-9 otherwise.

At the plate, Maverick Deveau was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run and three runs. Those three runs gave him a new career-high.
Columbia City came out on top against Whitko on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive eight-run seventh inning. The Eagles took their contest against the Wildcats 9-4.
Lukus Schmitt made a splash while hitting and pitching. He struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up four earned runs off five hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with two RBI and one run.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Maddox Moon, who went 1-for-4 with four RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. That triple was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Zack Berry, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs.
Westview's record is now 8-10. As for Columbia City, their record now sits at 15-7.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Saturday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Westview has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 10 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Columbia City struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7.9 strikeouts.
