Softball Recap: Rigby Wins Going Away Against Madison

Rigby won the last time they faced Madison and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Trojans were the clear victors by an 11-5 margin over the Bobcats. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Trojans.

Traylee Reid made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

In other batting news, Maggie Stowell was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. Samantha Bishop was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Rigby's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-13. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.3 runs over those games. As for Madison, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-13 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Rigby is set to challenge their familiar foe Highland at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Madison will square off against rival Thunder Ridge at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
