The Melrose Golden Wildcats typically have all the answers at home, but on Tuesday the Hamilton Wildcats proved too difficult a challenge. They came out on top against the Golden Wildcats by a score of 72-63. The win made it back-to-back wins for Hamilton.
It was another big night for Rodney Mcneal, who scored 27 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Devan McGee, who scored 23 points along with seven rebounds and two blocks.
Despite the loss, Melrose still got an impressive performance from Devin Sanders Jr, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 12 rebounds. Sanders Jr is crushing the rebound category: he's posted at least ten every time he's taken the court this season. Jaylen Cooley was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Hamilton's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-14. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.0 points per game. As for Melrose, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 18-8.
Hamilton does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Melrose, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Kirby at 7:30 p.m. on February 7th. Melrose is facing Kirby at the right time seeing as Kirby is stuck on a nine-game losing streak.
