The Centaurus Warriors pushed their score all the way to 58 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 59-58 to Holy Family. Centaurus has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Joseph Portillo jr continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Holy Family, scoring 18 points along with four steals. Jayden Watts was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with three steals.
Centaurus has been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-13 record this season. As for Holy Family, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-7.
Centaurus will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against the Mavericks at 6:00 p.m. Mead knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matches -- so hopefully the Warriors like a good challenge. As for Holy Family, they will head out on the road to take on the Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Colorado (Longmont is ranked 79th, while the Tigers are ranked 57th).
