The Osage City Indians and the Nemaha Central Thunder squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but sadly the Osage City Indians had to settle for second. Osage City was the victim of a rough 53-27 loss at the hands of Nemaha Central. Osage City's loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.
Despite the loss, Osage City still got an impressive performance from Cooper Parsons, who rushed for 49 yards and two touchdowns, and also picked up 31 receiving yards.
Carter Hajek was his usual excellent self, rushing for 242 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 8.3 yards per carry, and also throwing for 55 yards and a touchdown. Hajek is absolutely dominating the rushing touchdown category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the field this season. Cooper Kramer was in the mix too, providing Nemaha Central with two touchdowns.
Osage City's defeat dropped their record down to 9-2. As for Nemaha Central, their victory was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-0.
Osage City does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Nemaha Central will look to defend their home field on Friday against Sabetha at 7:00 p.m. Sabetha is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
