Billingsley's Torrey Green rumbled for the longest rushing play in 1A Region 3 this season in his game against Holy Spirit Catholic last week. Green ran for 55 yards on the play and finished with 53 on the day as his team beat the Titans.
Maplesville moved up to 123 from 165 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Red Devils climbed the ranks as a result of besting Keith 55-7.
Billingsley's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Thomas Nichols threw for 21 yards and Green had 12 yards receiving. On the ground Terrance Nolen chipped in 79 yards. Rashaud Caver helped Billingsley's passing attack out by catching one ball for nine yards.
Billingsley's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Bears feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Nichols has thrown for 619 yards and five touchdowns this season, while Green has 11 catches for 191 yards. Nolen leads the league in rushing with 671 yards.
Maplesville extended the longest winning streak in 1A Region 3 this week by beating the Bears, 55-7. The victory was the fourth in a row for the team.
