There wasn't a ton of movement in the power rankings this week, but there was certainly enough to keep things interesting. A special shoutout goes to Wilsonville's senior Nathan Overholt, who scored five total touchdowns in the team's most recent match.
Can't Touch This
Hermiston got a 61 - 42 win over Eisenhower last week, and a key reason for the win was senior Wyatt Noland. Noland ran for 303 yards and also punched in four touchdowns. That performance landed Noland among the top power-ranked players for the week.
This Week's Big Showdown
On paper, the match between West Linn (6th in the power rankings) and Tualatin (7th) looked as though it might be one of the more compelling ones, but things did not play out that way on the field. West Linn had all the answers against Tualatin, winning 45 - 20. No one had a larger role in the success than senior Ethan Long, who brought his A game into the contest. He finished up with 367 yards passing and two rushing touchdowns.
No Stoppin 'Em
114. That was the combined point total for Rainier and Amity when they went head to head last week, and it set the benchmark for all power ranking teams. Rainier battled it out with Amity for a well-earned 60 - 54 overtime win. The victory boosted Rainier a satisfying nine spots in the power rankings.
Next Week's Big Game
If you are itching to watch a first-rate contest, no game is supposed to fit the bill better than the one between Lake Oswego (2nd in the power rankings) and Tualatin (7th). This will be the second consecutive road game for Lake Oswego. Will it repeat its success, or will Tualatin bounce back and dish team a defeat?
