The Foundation Christian Academy Panthers will square off against the Lakeside Christian Lions at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Foundation Christian Academy's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last four matches.
Foundation Christian Academy barely beat Sarasota Christian the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Panthers blew past the Blazers 10-1 on Tuesday. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by six runs or more this season.
Raeghan Ramsey and Makayla Howard were major factors while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Ramsey didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out nine over four innings pitched. Meanwhile, Howard struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. At the plate, Ramsey went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI, while Howard went 3-for-5 with two runs and one stolen base.
In other batting news, Foundation Christian Academy let Raegan Goble and Cadence Cape run wild. Goble got on base in all five of her plate appearances with one run and one RBI, while Cape went 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI. McKay Barron was another key player, going 1-for-5 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run.
Foundation Christian Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 13 runs the game before, Lakeside Christian was a bit more limited in their contest on Tuesday. They lost 11-1 to Bradenton Christian. The Lions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Foundation Christian Academy is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-8 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Lakeside Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-6.
Foundation Christian Academy took their victory against Lakeside Christian in their previous meeting back in February by a conclusive 6-0 score. Do the Panthers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Lions turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
