Socorro has gone a perfect 10-0 against Coronado recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Bulldogs will host the Thunderbirds at 6:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Socorro has nine straight victories, Coronado has ten straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
On Saturday, Socorro got the win against Pebble Hills by a conclusive 17-6. Considering the Bulldogs have won 19 matchups by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Haley Rodriguez was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over 4.1 innings while giving up four earned runs off five hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in 21 consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.
In other batting news, Leilene Cardoza was incredible, firing off two home runs, four runs, and four RBI while going 4-for-5. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Mia Dominguez, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with one home run and three runs.
Socorro lost a few balls and finished the game with four home runs. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their home run total in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Saturday just wasn't the day for Coronado's offense. They lost 17-0 to Eastwood on Saturday.
Socorro's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 27-1. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.0 runs over those games. As for Coronado, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-23.
Coronado's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Socorro has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 12.4 hits per game. It's a different story for Coronado, though, as they've been averaging 11.4 hits. Given Socorro's sizable advantage in that area, the Thunderbirds will need to find a way to close that gap.
Socorro took their win against Coronado in their previous meeting two weeks ago by a conclusive 21-4 score. Will the Bulldogs repeat their success, or do the Thunderbirds have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
