The Apache Junction Prospectors scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They breezed by Desert Heights Prep on the road to the tune of 65-33. That 65-33 margin sets a new team best for Apache Junction this season.
Apache Junction's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Josh Castro, who scored 20 points along with nine rebounds. Another player making a difference was Omar Adam, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds and five assists.
The victory was the third in a row for Apache Junction, bringing their record for this year to 5-8. As for Desert Heights Prep, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-9.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Apache Junction will take on Superior at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. Superior is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. Desert Heights Prep and BASIS Phoenix will face off at 5:00 p.m. on January 8th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. BASIS Phoenix has now lost nine straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 21.
