Cypress Lake hasn't had much luck against Fort Myers recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Panthers will take on the Green Wave at 6:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Cypress Lake took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. They were the clear victors by an 11-2 margin over Lely. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Trojans recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.
Audrina Westland was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over seven innings pitched. Westland was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with four RBI, one triple, and one run. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in February of 2024.

In other batting news, Cypress Lake got a big performance out of Maisy Vogel, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Those two hits gave Vogel a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Sofia Grimaldi, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-2.
Meanwhile, Fort Myers got the win against Immokalee on Thursday by a conclusive 8-2. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Green Wave.
Like Cypress Lake, Fort Myers also got a great game from a two-way player: Daciana Harvey. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Harvey was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Sage Rodmyre, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.
Cypress Lake's record is now 5-7. As for Fort Myers, their record now sits at 14-5-1.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Cypress Lake has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.8 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Fort Myers struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.2 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Cypress Lake came up short against Fort Myers when the teams last played back in March of 2024, falling 5-1. Can the Panthers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
