After a string of four wins, The Camden Fairview Cardinals''s good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 35-18 bruising from Hot Springs. Despite 95 more yards than Hot Springs, Camden Fairview couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.
Despite the loss, Camden Fairview still got an impressive performance from Trent Haygood, who rushed for 132 yards and a touchdown on only 15 carries.
Hot Springs got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Kenyon Woods out in front who rushed for 111 yards on only 14 carries. Woods was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 65 yards. Justin Washington also helped out with an impressive 81 receiving yards.
Camden Fairview's loss dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Hot Springs, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 8-1.
Camden Fairview will head out on the road to face off against Parkview at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Parkview knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past six contests -- so hopefully Camden Fairview likes a good challenge. As for Hot Springs, they will be playing at home against Lakeside at 12:00 p.m. on Friday. Lakeside will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each contest than the last.
