When it comes to explaining why McCool Junction lost, one person who can't be blamed is McKenna Yates. Despite the final result, she scored 22 points along with 3 steals and 3 blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Ella Clark, who scored 10 points.
Shyanne Anderson was the offensive standout of the matchup as she scored 16 points. Another player making a difference was Bricelynn Larson, who scored 7 points along with 3 steals.
McCool Junction's defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Cross County, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.
McCool Junction will be playing at home against Hampton at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Cross County won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Shelby-Rising City at 6:00 p.m. on December 1st.
