There's no place like home for the Mulvane Wildcats, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Saturday. They strolled past Clearwater with points to spare on Monday, taking the game 50-36. Given Mulvane's advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 48th, while Clearwater is ranked 207th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Mulvane was led to victory by Manny Myers and Aiden Mckee. Myers scored 16 points along with five rebounds, while Mckee scored 17 points along with eight rebounds and three blocks. That's the first time this season that Mckee pulled down eight or more rebounds.
Mulvane has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. As for Clearwater, their defeat was their 15th straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-8.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mulvane will take on Augusta at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Clearwater will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Classical at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
