The Poughkeepsie Pioneers had to hit the road for their first game and sadly it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They had to suffer through a rough 81-53 loss at the hands of Green Tech. Poughkeepsie has struggled against Green Tech recently, as their contest on Friday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Green Tech was led to victory by Haisi Mayben and U'Mier Graham. Mayben dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten assists, while Graham dropped a double-double on 21 points and ten rebounds. Mayben also posted two blocks for the first time this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ramere Brown, who scored ten points along with three steals.
Poughkeepsie's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Green Tech, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-2.
Poughkeepsie will finish 2023 at home by hosting Harrison at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Green Tech and Mariner will round out the year against one another at 11:10 a.m. on Wednesday at. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in their respective states (Mariner is ranked 172nd in Florida, while Green Tech is ranked 150th in New York).
