In what's become a running theme this season, the Northwood Academy Chargers gave their fans yet another huge win on Friday. They blew past Pinewood Prep 55-31. Northwood Academy is really starting to get used to good results now that the team's won 16 straight.
alayah birch was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 26 points and 21 rebounds. Birch is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Morgan Jones, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds.
Northwood Academy's win was their ninth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 23-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.3 points per game. As for Pinewood Prep, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-21.
Northwood Academy will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against John Paul II at 6:00 p.m. Northwood Academy has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 1,081 points over their last 17 games. Pinewood Prep does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
