Van Buren have had to suffer through a 3-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They had enough points to win and then some against Columbus on Friday, taking their match 24-6. Columbus can consider this payback for the 8-29 loss they dealt Van Buren the last time the teams encountered one another.
The victory bumped Van Buren's record up to 2-3. Columbus are still searching for that first win as they fell to 0-5.
Next week Van Buren take on Sigourney-Keota at 7:00 PM. Van Buren will be strutting in after a win while Sigourney-Keota will be stumbling in from a defeat. As for Columbus, they will face off against Mediapolis. Columbus stagger into the game hobbled by five consecutive losses while Mediapolis skip in buoyed by five consecutive wins.
