Seneca (S.C.) jumped out to an early lead against Walhalla (S.C.) and never looked back on the way to a 56-13 victory on Saturday.
The Bobcats scored 14 points in the first quarter. Seneca scored on a touchdown run by
Spencer Brothers, a touchdown, a
Marquis Arnold touchdown run and a touchdown.
SHS was up 42-6 at the half after taking the lead on a Brothers touchdown run in the first quarter.
The Bobcats expanded their lead to 50 points entering the fourth quarter. Seneca scored two times in the third, including once on a touchdown run by Arnold.
Arnold played well for SHS in the victory. He ran for three touchdowns. He has now scored seven touchdowns on the season.
A 42-16 Seneca victory was the result when the squads faced off last season.
The victory was a step in the right direction for Seneca, which was coming off a 32-31 defeat at the hands of Westside in its previous game. The victory snapped SHS's 2-game losing streak.
Seneca (2-2) will play a AAA Region I game against Wren next week, while Walhalla (2-2) will take on Belton-Honea Path also in a AAA Region I game.
