Winning is a bit easier when you work as a team to post eight more assists than your opponent, as Winthrop College Prep Academy did.
JoLesa Birkhead was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 26 points and 14 steals. That makes it nine consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Winthrop College Prep Academy's points. Another player making a difference was Zamyria King, who scored 14 points along with seven steals.
Despite the loss, Braden River still got an impressive performance from Emily Dalton, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 15 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Kelis Mcgrady, who scored seven points along with eight rebounds and four steals.
Winthrop College Prep Academy's victory bumped their record up to 8-10. As for Braden River, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season.
