Dayton Rogers made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.
In other batting news, Mason Hill was incredible, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one triple. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Cash Erdman, who went 2-for-3 with one triple and two RBI.
Bellevue Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .519. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cascade Christian only posted an OBP of .273.
Ten must be Seattle Christian's lucky number: they beat Sultan with that score not once but twice on Saturday. The Warriors put the hurt on the Turks with a sharp 10-3 win. With that victory, the Warriors brought their scoring average up to 6.3 runs per game.
Like Bellevue Christian, Seattle Christian also got a great game from a two-way player: Jack Hilburn. On the mound, he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over four innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave Hilburn a new career-high in strikeouts (two). Hilburn wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Jackson Young, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double. That's the most RBI Young has posted over his last 11 games. Logan Schindler was another, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base and one run.
Seattle Christian now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Bellevue Christian, their win bumped their record up to 15-4.
Seattle Christian's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Tuesday. Bellevue Christian has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.9 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Seattle Christian, though, as they've been averaging only 4 strikeouts. Will Bellevue Christian keep running through batters, or will the Warriors buck the trend?
